Recent state policy change affects time and recordkeeping

February 10 2009

Changes to the State Personnel Manual that took effect July 31, 2008, impact part of the message in the Internal Audit Department memo distributed May 22, 2006, on the subject “Pay Attention to Time and Attendance Recordkeeping.” Previous guidance stated that compensatory time should be used before vacation or sick leave. Revision No. 30 to the State Personnel Manual removed “sick leave” from this phrase.

Reminder about proper use of receipt books

The Internal Audit Department recently completed a review of receipt books accountability. The Cashier’s Office provides receipt books to any office or department that collects funds for deposit. Receipt books are used to provide evidence of the transaction for both parties.
